Description:

Howard Brown is a Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Trans (GLBT) community health center. We are funded primarily through grants, donations, and fund raising. We offer comprehensive health care including primary medical services, behavioral/social services, case management, support groups, outreach, and research. We accept insured and uninsured patients. Patients without insurance are charged on a sliding scale based on their income.

Our clinic was involved in the hepatitis B vaccine trials during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and has continued focusing on hepatitis services for more than 25 years. Over the past several years, Howard Brown has made a concentrated effort to focus on education, prevention, screening, and immunization for hepatitis A and hepatitis B to all sexually active people. Hepatitis education and prevention is on the radar throughout all facets of our organization.

We also offer a Walk-In Hepatitis A/B Vaccination Clinic. In this clinic, we provide Hepatitis A/B vaccination for $15; individuals need not be registered primary care clients of Howard Brown Health Center to attend this clinic. The Walk-In Hepatitis A/B Vaccination Clinic is open: Mon from 9am-7pm, Tues/Thurs from 1pm-7pm, and Wed-Fri from 9am-4pm (closed 12noon-1pm for lunch each day). Comprehensive hepatitis A/B/and C services (screening, evaluation, treatment) are offered through our primary medical care clinic.
