a need for vaccinations. Approximately 75% of clients that began the three-shot
series completed the series. There were also 150 hepatitis A vaccinations

Description: |
|
|
|
The Mission of BESTD Clinic is to provide quality
professional diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases as well as
HIV/AIDS prevention counseling and testing, in a manner that is sensitive to the
sexual orientation and gender identity of our clients. BESTD Clinic provides
its services at no cost. As part of our STD screening, HIV counseling and
testing and outreach programs, clients determined to be at risk for hepatitis A,
B, or C are identified. Those at risk for hepatitis B are urged to be screened.
Clients then receive hepatitis A and B vaccinations, if eligible. For hepatitis
C screening and follow-up care, we refer at-risk clients to sites administered
and funded by the state/county. BESTD Clinic has been serving southeastern
Wisconsin since 1974. It is staffed completely by volunteers, having no paid
staff of any kind. All services and programs are offered without charge or fee,
although donations are accepted. (Our average donation is slightly over $1 per
client). |
